NCLEX for RNs

The College is accountable to the public to ensure nurses have the knowledge, skill and judgement to practice safely. As part of the legislative requirements to become an RN in Newfoundland & Labrador, you must successfully complete the licensure exam approved by the Board. Since 2015, this exam is the NCLEX-RN.

NCLEX-RN® Newfoundland and Labrador Testing Locations & Schedule

Newfoundland and Labrador provides 2 locations to write the NCLEX-RN depending on the time of the year.

  • Pearson VUE Permanent Test Center:
    235 Water Street, Suite 102

  • Temporary Test Center (June 3 – 9, 2026):
    Corner Brook Civic Centre
    1 Canada Games Place
    Corner Brook, NL A2H 5G4

New graduate applicants must apply to the College for exam eligibility and must register and pay the NCLEX exam fee to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) by the application deadline.

New Graduate Exam Candidate – Application Deadline

  • Spring Graduates: March 9, 2026

International applicants who have not already passed the NCLEX-RN exam through another licencing body should not apply to NSCBN until they receive information from the College that they are eligible to take the exam.
